We stayed here for a week during our trip to Marrakech. It's fantastic value: breakfast included in the price, lovely hot shower and clean toilets, free Wi-Fi. Everything you need really! Breakfast is served every morning until 11.30am on the roof terrace, which is a dream! The staff were very helpful, I needed to print off my boarding pass before my flight and they were so kind to let me do so! They also let us leave our bags in the Riad as we had time to kill before our flight home. The Riad is located just 5 minutes walk from the main square, but it is so lovely and quiet at night. A beautiful Riad and I would definitely recommend!

By far my favorite part of Marrakech. I could have stayed the entire weekend there without leaving and had a wonderful time due to the atmosphere and the staff. Definitely recommend it and it would be my first pick in places to stay if I returned to Marrakech.

In side street as you go threw the souk not far from the main market,Night life is good, snake charmers, freshly cooked food, henna painting the list goes on. Everything you need you will find in the souk. During our 12 days in Morocco - Marrakech was our base from where we have travelled to desert, then to Atlas Mountains, then Essaouira. Every time we came to Marrakech - we always stayed in Riad dar Nakhla. The Riad is very clean ( our room was cleaned every day), the room was very quite, wifi was working great, AC was working great too. The riad is tastefully decorated as well. Our room was a good size. The atmosphere of the riad is very relaxing. Location is great, steps to the main square. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. We were able to leave our bags in the riad while we were traveling in desert, mountains and beach. So it is great that we did not have to carry all our luggage with us. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.

The riad is quiet, clean, and furnished with original moroccan stuff. It is very close to the main attractions of Bahia Palace, spices market, Jemaa El Fna. Samir was kind and helpful,, he made really everything to solve any our problem. The only fault was neglect and poor maintenance of the furniture and a kind of careless everywhere.

I live outside Marrakech, and whenever I have friends visiting who want the Riad experience we stay here. It is wonderfully located on a quite side street and the decorations are simple yet elegant. The rooms are clean, the showers are hot, and the wifi and breakfast are free! The breakfast is different everyday, but what stays consistent every morning is the amazing spiced coffee! It is a great place to stay if you are looking for a more upscale budget accommodation, great deal for the price. The staff are also super helpful and once drove my friend and I to the train station when we needed to catch a 5am train. I have stayed at more expensive riads and the service just doesn't compare. This place is a true gem!

This is the first time I have written a review on trip advisor and only because this was a fantastic place (palace) to stay. I was lucky to be highly recommended this Riad by a friend who is currently living in Morocco and I was not disappointed. The Riad is tucked away just a stone's throw from the main square in a private and welcoming area. The Riad is in a beautiful condition with all the colours and atmosphere you would expect from these historic town houses and was the best part of my trip to Morocco. The staff were genuinely amazing and helpful on all occasions. It was a dream to stay in this Riad and I couldn't recommend it more highly to others.

another Riad in the heart of the Medina and a short walk from the El Fna Square and still away from the noises.the people who run it are very welcoming and do their best to make sure you have a great stay.the lady that does breakfast is lovely and every day had a different specialty to go with the usual bread, butter, jam, honey. my favourite was a marbled cake and a kind of eggy bread but sweet. :-)there is an array of terraces and good views. I practiced my Tai-chi every morning on one of them accompanied by the song of lovely birds.oh, there is also a lovely, friendly cat called Leo.The free WiFi is also a bonus.

we had a wonderful experience at this riad. its a beautiful space with a central yet secluded location. the house is beautifully decorated, ver well maintained and the best part of staying here was the common spaces. our hosts were extremely helpful and welcoming. the fact that they are multilingual was an added bonus. they provided us with a map, marked all the important sites in the area and provided us with good direction/tips on how to get around. they even offered to give us a wake up call at 3am in the morning on our last day and dropped us to the bus station. i'm very grateful for this. p.s. i know that this is important to a lot of travelers so i will mention it in so many words - THE BATHROOMS ARE GREAT.

Great location, 5 min from Jemaa al Fna square. Beautiful Moroccan style rooms and the whole riad. Very quite even thought in the center of Medina. Wonderfull staff, the hosts Najib and Samir will help you with every single thing you might think of and they speak fluent arabic, french, english, spanish and probably more. Great breakfast included in the price: spicy Moroccan coffee, fresh orange juice, fresh Moroccan bread, butter, honey and always a sweet dish to end the breakfast. Very friendly girls serving. Wonderfull roof terrassa to escape the hottest sun or to cool off at night. No problem with the cleaning. Probably one of the cheapest riads in Medina. Price/quality= 10!!! A perfect place for accomondation and with the atmosphere you´ll get even more that you ask for. Nothing bad to say: full recomendations!!!

We were moved to this guesthouse from another riad - it is very clean, very attractive, very quiet and highly recommended. It is well located near to the square and the staff are extremely helpful. We were taken to the airport by the manager himself in his own car!

This is a great little riad in the medina. Close to the Djemaa el Fna but off of a side street so it is quiet. Clean with a great friendly staff and a lovely roof (where they serve breakfast) with wonderful views. The rooms are beautifully and tastefully decorated. Seemed to be cheaper than a lot of other Riads in the area. Watch out for low ceilings in the stairwells, my husband bumped his head a couple of times (he is around five feet, eleven inches (about 1.8 meters)) but he should watch where he is going. By the way, their website is not (currently) listed on the tripadvisor page but it is http://riaddarnakhla.com. The riad could be a bit hard to find if you do not know where it is (we had a friend come meet us at the train station to show us the exact location). My husband and I put together a quick directions sheet to help – you can view and download a PDF here: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B4KDOs-RLEGxMjNYWk5VZS1UOXFjYXI0MFpLd2Q4dw

Dar Nakhla is a great place to stay. It's a fantastic lokation – lovely and quite corner of medina and it's just few minutes away from the famous square. Building itself is very interesting, tastefully decorated in a moroccan way, and it has sunny roof teracces. Best of all is a super friendly staff, very generous and helpful. We spent with them fantastic time. They can also organize guided tours in Marrakech, as well as trips out of city. If you prefer to dine in riad, girls will prepere delicious food for you. I'm sure we'll go back there again.

Riad Nakhla actually saved us from a double booking in another hotel, so we didn't choose them but were really glad they found us. Najib and Samir could not have been more helpful or welcoming, without being invasive but really going the extra mile to make us comfortable. The building is fascinating and tastefully decorated. In two days we kept finding other stairs and more cabinets and niches with beautiful pots and jars. Rooms clean and comfortable. Would choose to stay here again and gladly recommend Riad Nakhla to others.

We had a wonderful stay and was well looked after by Najib and Semir. It was like being at home! The Riad is beautiful and very clean and rooms were spacious and had a great Moroccan feel. It was very near to everything in Marrakesh and also was the perfect place to relax and sit on the roof terrace drinking mint tea and taking in the views of the city. We would defo stay here again, they organised us trips to the mountains and gave us honest advice of what to see etc. They even recommended places for nightlife hotspots and had a great Morocco evening out with the general manager. If you want to be well looked after and stay in a beautiful traditional place then stay at the DAR NAKHLA. Thank you Marios , Will, Fiona and Katy xx

My husband, myself and our 19-year-old grandson visited Marrakesh in May 2011. Our original plan was to spend two weeks in Marrakesh (as well as two weeks in Spain), but changes in work schedules forced us to cut back our time in Morocco to five days. So, it was very important that we squeeze in as much as possible and not waste our time. Najib, manager of Dar Nakhla, is the best. He advised us as to which would be the best tour for us that included riding camels into the Sahara Desert, and other advice and overall friendliness. You might read older reviews of Dar Nakhla (before Summer 2010) that have bad things to say about Dar Nakhla. Be assured, those bad things have been fixed and more!! It is an extremely pleasant place to stay. If you want to experience Moroccan culture, this is the place to stay. It’s not the Ritz Carlton, but we didn’t want to be isolated behind gates in a fancy hotel. We wanted to experience Morocco and Moroccans. And we surely did staying at Dar Nakhla and having Najib to help us. Samuel and the rest of the staff were also very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Inside Dar Nakhla’s walls there was quiet and serenity. Step out the door and you are two blocks from the hustle and bustle, and noise, that is the medina of Marrakesh. Our room had a private bathroom, A/C and very comfortable beds. The room was decorated in authentic Moroccan style including a beautifully painted cedar ceiling. Just outside our door was a sitting room area shared by three rooms. There we met people from France, Spain and South Africa. A bonus for us. Our 19-year-old grandson really appreciated the good wi-fi; OK, we older folks did as well. Other older reviews have mentioned noisy and smelly. We experienced neither. Dar Nakhla is clean, quiet and no bad smells, and we always felt safe. The terrace was a special sanctuary. Set on several levels, we could sit out in the sun, or if it was raining, there is a Berber tent set up on the top level to keep dry. Yes, it rained while we were in Marrakesh. I tried to brush up on my French so I could converse with the staff in French. But, there was no need. Najib and Samuel speak good English. Stay at Dar Nakhla; it will be an experience of a lifetime!!
